About My Ferrets And The Equipment I Use
I use purse nets and sometimes Air Rifles, Shooting Rabbits is sometimes called for when the field is not suitable to ferret, Dogs are also used if the land owner allows, I also partake in Pigeon shooting feral or wood, Fox's, Rats, Grey Squirrels, Rooks, Crows, and any other Vermin that is troubling the Farmer or Land Owner.
Above is the Deben Ferret Locator mark one. A very useful bit of kit for the ferreter, You can obtain these in either 8 ft or 15 ft locators, I use both 8 ft and 15 ft with several collars.
My Albino Hob Gizmo in the Winter Snow, ferrets are hardy animals as long as they are given a good sheltered hutch with warm dry bedding and a draft proof dry hutch, that is not cold in winter and not hot in summer, ferrets do not tolerate the heat at all and must be kept in the shade or they will over heat and can die.
Above is two Ferrets one on the left is a Silver ferret and on the right is a Albino ferret, both Jill's.
Albino Jill at work wearing the new Deben Ferret Collar mark 3, I have mark 1 and the mark 3 locators, both are great in the field but I prefer the old knocker box mark 1 to the new mark 3, suppose it's hard to change to modern technology, but I will keep on trying to get used to the mark 3, bit like working with R2D2 from Star Wars lol.
Ferret with it's box and a bag of purse nets and two nice rabbits.
Polecat Ferret having it's locator collar fitted so it's ready to go to ground and work.
